1) Kid's Action League of Martial Artists - ( www.kaloma.org )

The Kid’s Action League of Martial Artists (KALOMA) was formed in 2002 under the direction of Mr. Michael L. Werth, a professional martial artist and a professional Rhode Island Department of Education certified secondary mathematics teacher. KALOMA is a group of martial artists who believes that our current generation of children need to have access to character development programs, focus/confidence training, and business literacy/numeracy education required for success in the global marketplace. We believe that we can succeed in our mission to provide cultural arts and educational opportunities to families who cannot easily afford these services. We received tax-exempt status under the IRS section 501(c) (3) in 2003. We are now ready to tackle the challenge of providing funding and opportunities for children in our local communities nationwide.

2) Project Action Foundation ( www.projectaction.com )

Project Action Foundation's mission is to prevent juvenile crime by providing disadvantaged and "at risk" children the opportunity to obtain training in the physical and cultural arts of dance, gymnastics and martial arts. Project Action Foundation, created as a public charity 501( c )(3) in October 1994, currently has participating sponsor studios in close to 2,000 U.S. cities. Project Action provides underprivileged children scholarships to attend these established and recognized studios. Project Action received the 1997 Governor's Community Investment Award in Florida from the late Governor Lawton Chiles and was recognized the same year by California Governor Pete Wilson for its work fighting juvenile crime and keeping children out of gangs. Law enforcement agencies and school counselors account for most of the children who are referred to Project Action.  Project Action closely monitors school grades, attendance and behavior. Many of our current scholarship children have shown remarkable scholastic turnarounds, sometimes from straight F's to honor roll, after becoming involved in Project Action's scholarship program.
